HotIndieMusic.com!!
New website is coming August 1st!! HotIndieMusic.com is a new site that discovers the new and hottest indie music talent. Billboard Music does not do it, MySpace says they will but never do so a team or industry vets came up with the concept of HotIndieMusic.com.
How does HotIndieMusic.com work?
A panel of experts surf the web daily scrolling through thousands of MySpace Music pages, YouTube videos, CD Baby pages, SoundClick Pages, FaceBook pages etc…. listening to indie music. It does not matter how many plays or views the indie artist of band has, HotIndieMusic.com staff listens to the music and evaluates it. At the end of each quarter (4 months) 25 indie artists are picked in each genre (country, hip hop, R&B , Neo Soul/Jazz, Rock/Alternative, Soul/Blues, Techno/Dance) and featured on HotIndieMusic.com.
Who?
In case you’re wondering they do not accept materials and you cannot request to be featured so don’t even try it (they told me to say that =). They find you and if they think you’re good and they rank you on their website against other indie artists in your genre.
When?
As far as we know the site will be available August 1st. If they push back the launch I’ll let you know.
How?
How can you get HotIndieMusic.com to review your music? Once their site is launched you can post a comment (like you do on my website) asking them to review your music. They will review it, however they will not send you a confirmation email saying you’ve been accepted or not accepted. Obviously if you’re site made the cut it would be featured in the following quarter. Do not continue to submit comments asking about the status of your review because you will be banned.
How Do I Know All This?
Yours truly was invited to be a review panelist with over 23 other music industry vets. You can also submit your site here to be reviewed. However, don’t ask me to get you on HotIndieMusic.com or to hook you up with contacts, I will block you off this site permanently. HotIndieMusic.com is objective and solely based on talent.
