Viral Music Sales Via Widgets

I told you indie music artist to get creative when it comes to selling your music online. You can’t get more creative than this. Artists tend to be independent and as a result they assume they have to do everything themselves. This is how you have a nervous breakdown, you can’t do it all!

You’re responsible for two things: viral music marketing via widgets

1.Making good music

2.Getting your music heard

Viral music sales is a great way to sell music. In case you’re new to the term viral marketing, it is not a computer virus. Viral is like YouTube, people can add your video to their own web pages. Make sense? Viral music sales are excellent because they kill two birds with one stone by marketing and selling simultaneously.

So how do we do this? Get your best music on the web, create multiple web pages (you-band-name.com, MySpace Music, Facebook, YouTube, SoundClick, WeMix, etc..) link them together and put the viral widgets for your music on those pages. Now people can add that widget to their web page (like a YouTube video) and sell your music to their clients.

Even if you don’t sell a lot via viral widgets, you still get more online music plays (marketing) and record labels track plays. Make sure your widget tracks play counts. The more websites that contain your widget, the more your plays, credibility and popularity you increase. Ever seen the same thing on three or four different websites and then decide to Google it? Yeah, same concept get them hooked and get your song in their head.

So where do you get such a widget? Check with the music retailers that are selling your music online. For example, itunes offers their own widgets to their users. In fact itunes even offers RSS feeds, another great online marketing and selling tool. As you can see the possibilities are endless and widgetless.

Indie artists get your widgets ready!
